Camp Rewind By Meghan O'Brien

Erotic romance (with more focus on erotica) writer Meghan O’Brien has created some interesting characters in Camp Rewind.

Alice Wu suffers from social anxiety. She is almost debilitatingly shy. Not many authors have dealt with shyness and the trauma shy people face in their interactions. O’Brien has done that in this book and has Alice’s counterpoint in Rosa Salazar, who first recognises Alice’s shyness and then handles it with sensitivity and patience.

Rosa comes with her own baggage which also plays up during the weekend affair in the camp. Yes, it is supposed to be just a weekend that the two girls spend together, but the author does a good job in making us believe that such strong emotions and huge impact on personality are possible in this relatively short period of time.

The openness about sex, voyeurism, exhibitionism displayed by all folks in the camp is a little weird, but works. Though, if you are susceptible, it may mess your mind into believing that all people are like that. Be warned and when you read this, always, always keep in mind this is how the author would like world to be, but it isn’t.

Since O’Brien also seems to be a romantic, her books have HEA, which is always a big plus to us. Like all books from this author, the sex, the making-out and the huge chemistry is excellently written.
