Fated Love By Radclyffe

Quinn Maguire, a rising star in the world of surgery suddenly shows up as an ER physician in Philadelphia Medical College. The chief of emergency services, Honor Blake is none too happy with an appointment in her department without having got the chance to interview the candidate. She finds something fishy that someone with Quinn’s credentials is taking a rather large, inexplicable step down.

Radclyffe writes both the main characters as strong, independent women with great integrity. The author’s familiarity with hospitals and medical procedures makes the entire milieu very real, though it can get jargon for a lay reader, it doesn’t detract from the narrative, it only enhances the whole atmosphere.

What is truly outstanding is that while the attraction is well written and the chemistry crackles, the emotional binding and build-up is the real star of this book. The entire romance draws us in more emotionally than with the hot chemistry.

The other great thing in this book is the sex. Even the sex scenes are hinged on the emotion rather than the act itself (which admittedly is described in enough detail to satisfy). Also, the sex is realistic, in the sense, it doesn’t require any great imagination to ‘see’ it and yet it sends all the tingles.

This is quite an enchanting read…low angst, high emotional draw, good sex, great characters.
