Love, From A to Z by Robin Alexander

Wanting Her by Raquel De Leon

Vivian Barrera is the co-owner of an investigative agency which she started to solve the mystery of her brother who went missing over a decade back. April Hawkins is the newest employee in the agency. Vivian doesn’t like April because her partner contravened all their hiring rules to appoint April and makes no bones about flirting with the new investigator.

This book was probably meant to have the ice queen trope and the author does try to make Vivian into an ice queen but Vivian didn’t stay in that plan. She comes across as a nice person who is completely honest, open and genuine. Which, of course, makes her very likeable. April and the other secondary characters are neither here nor there.

The relationship between the two MCs starts way, way too abruptly with barely any build-up or interaction between them, but then follows an okay pace. It is an angst-free romance (which is a good thing) though April’s uncalled-for behaviour could’ve led to bigger issues – except that Vivian is just really mature and nice.

While this is not something we’d recommend, it is not awful either.
