Remember Me by Bryce Taylor

This is a short novella bout meeting your teenage crush and first love in completely different circumstances after fifteen years.

Meg, who had to leave home after coming out at eighteen, co-owns a successful tech company. On a morning like any other, when she walks into a coffee shop, her eye catches the back of a woman who could by her crush when she was fifteen. It turns out to be the same woman, Jo, who used to be a penniless college student fifteen years ago and was Meg’s Sunday school teacher. Their acquaintanceship at that time extended beyond the classes and became a friendship over a weekly cup of coffee and long conversations. They lost touch when Meg left and her Jo is again in need of help as she battles with the lowest point of her life.

This was short and rather sweet. Jo, as a person was very likeable and Meg’s feelings for Jo made her very likeable too. There is no angst, so that is a great thing. The scene in the end when they finally get together is OTT sweet with Jo wanting to discuss all things sex lying atop Meg – and both are nude.

A thoroughly enjoyable novella, this one.
