Dancing The Night Away by Laura Conway

We love age-gap romances. We love May-Decembers. We love irrational sparks. This book has all that, but is firmly in the ‘like’ and ‘okay’ space rather than ‘love’ and ‘wow’.

Spencer works in a gay bar, Club Pink. She’s been there for about a decade and is well-entrenched with a great relationship with her boss. Noticing that Tuesdays are a little slow, Spencer suggests a starting a salsa night with instructors et al. On the first of the scheduled salsa night, Spencer is stunned to notice Delaney Meyers, her teen crush walk in. Since both Spencer and Delaney are without partners for salsa, they team up and find chemistry both, on the dance floor and off it.

We enjoyed the book in a low-level easy-peasy kind of way. The characters were nice enough. The pacing was good. We don’t always ‘feel’ the attraction and chemistry in Conway’s writing, but it is good enough. Okay, yeah…some of the sex scenes are good. We do believe that the final resolution scene could’ve done with more intensity of emotion – that would’ve really made this book better for us.

As it stands, this is a fairly okay, low involvement read.
